Gravity Was a Mistake

Ever had to negotiate your way over a collection of floating debris, suspended in an eerie void? It’s not an unfamiliar scenario in games, but traversal-heavy puzzle platformer Gravity Was a Mistake is going all the way and its first trailer has us checking our feet are still firmly planted on the floor.

The premise is that, with the aid of a Half-Life 2 style gravity gun, you have to ascend through a distressingly vertical world, climbing a range of floating objects. You upgrade your skills as you progress through Gravity Was a Mistake, so plunging into the abyss should be a slightly less frequent occurrence.

Developers Morazel and WasQ state that success “…requires creativity, precision, and the ability to adapt to a constantly shifting environment.” There won’t always be conveniently placed stepping stones, either. You’ll sometimes have to collect and manipulate objects to negotiate this wonky world.

We can see Gravity Was a Mistake becoming quite popular online, after YouTuber after YouTuber falls to their doom. Could this be the next Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy?

We’ll have to wait a while to find out for sure, since Gravity Was a Mistake doesn’t currently have a release date. However, vertigo or not, we’re seriously intrigued by its trailer, which you can watch above. You can wishlist Gravity Was a Mistake on Steam here.
